Our Story

The ADFHRIA was established in August 2004 at a time when the entire world was entering a new order and peace and harmony were prerequisite more than ever in our society.

One of the issues that captured our hearts and inspired us to form ADFHRIA was the issue of war victims, displaced people, and refugees, which has once again become a serious concern for everyone, especially NGOs and governments around the world.

The ADFHRIA was founded by members of the Iranian community in Australia, especially in Sydney, to protect the rights of Iranian asylum seekers and refugees while maintaining support for democracy and human rights at home.

The ADFHRIA is proud of its members for upholding its values in supporting victims of human rights abuses in during these difficult years.

The ADFHRI is one of the most progressive, brilliant, and well-founded Iranian-Australian human rights organisations, working with a wide variety of Australian political parties, human rights organisations, government agencies, labour unions, church leaders, and individuals to address the needs of Iranians in Australia over the last two decades.
